It doesn’t take much for me to dislike someone, and as a result, I hate a lot
of people. With this hatred comes with
me thinking all of the things I hate not
just about them, but humanity as a whole. Unauthorized Authority was born from the questions and discussions that I have with myself about my hatred for so many people. As a result, it very heavily degrades humans and their behaviors.
This piece focuses on themes such as sex, depression, suicide, capitalism, and deeply questions other facets of humanity. With the creation of this piece, I felt it necessary to say what I was thinking regardless of what you, the audience, may think. That’s because this work is to directly translate what I’m feeling about the world in a pure and unhinged form.
Given that it touches on such complex and heavy topics, I felt it best to engage in different ways to interact with it. The headset is the primary tool for interaction as it’s meant to see what I see, while the televisions are meant to indicate the outside world, which you can’t see in the headset. As a whole, it functions to feel infinite and impossible to view in one setting, similar to my perpetual hatred and questions.
